General View of Kemp Town, Now Erecting on the Estate of T.R. Kemp, Esq., M.P. on the East Cliff, Brighton

BPC00212

Aquatint published by C & R Sickelmore, included in their Select Views of Brighton c1827 and Sicklemore’s Descriptive Views of Brighton c1830. Also published in the Monthly Magazine No. 404. The Monthly Magazine ran from 1796 to 1843 and had such contributors as William Blake, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Charles Lamb and Charles Dickens. In line with Sickelmore’s most used engraver, and from the style of the aquatint, this plate is certainly by the London-based craftsman George Hunt.
