Steel engraving by E Finden after William Westall. Published in Moule’s Great Britain Illustrated, 1830.

After travelling in India and China, Westall was elected to The Old Watercolour Society in 1810, then became an Associate of the Royal Academy in 1812. He produced a number of outstanding views of Brighton.
