View of Kemp Town from the Sea

BPC00205

Steel engraving by T Jeavons after Richard Henry Nibbs. Published by W Grant, 5 Castle Square, c1845. On the left of this scene can be seen the unfinished Chichester Terrace. Looking at the far left section of the terrace, there are windows on the right hand side of the house, indicating the original intention to have a road coming down from the back of the estate, to join the seafront road at that point.
