BPC00036
(this is a very small original image – see note on image sizes)
Steel plate line engraving by W J Alais after F Forde and published by W Grant, 5 Castle Square.
There are only three recorded views of Bedford Square in Images of Brighton, and this unrecorded print makes up the fourth known view of the square. The square was built between 1807 and 1818, and then Regency Square was built between 1818 and 1828. This particular copy of the print is in the form of a letter heading.
Not in Images of Brighton but similar to 1036, which is published by Newman and shows the later building of the Norfolk Hotel on the left.
