This is one of a series of 17 plates that Grant had engraved by Jeavons, after either Nibbs or Atwick, and published towards the end of 1847.
R H Nibbs (1816-1893) is one of our most important Brighton-born artists. His work can be seen in Brighton & Hove Museum, The Towner, Eastbourne, the National Maritime Museum and the Britannia Royal Naval College.
