Copperplate engraving, 1803, from A Guide to all the Watering and Sea-Bathing Places written by John Feltham.
The open downland in the foreground is the later site of Clifton Terrace. To the left of the church, just where the single bar fence ends towards the middle of the scene, can be seen the dome of the newly built Royal Stables, that the Prince had commissioned from William Porden in the year of this print’s publication, 1803.
