This view shows the western side of BPC00449, on the immediate right-hand side, the terrace of homes called St George’s Place with their front gardens and railings. Then we have a closer view of the Gloucester Hotel, with the owner Maxfield’s name on the side wall. Into the distance of the view, the next terrace, set back from the hotel and overlooking the next section of the North Steine gardens, is Marlborough Place. The infantry barracks can be seen behind this terrace of Marlborough Place. There is further detail about these in BPC00448.
